Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) — Research In Motion Ltd. is releasing three new versions of its BlackBerry smartphone simultaneously in the first overhaul of the handsets in a year as the company tries to regain ground against Apple Inc.
App makers relying more on repeat users to make money
Mobile developers are increasingly focusing on engaging repeat customers rather than chasing sales of apps to new users, according to a new survey of developers. It’s a natural outgrowth of the explosion of the apps marketplace, which is nearly impossible to stand out in anymore, with more than 425,000 apps in the iOS App Store and 250,000 in the Android Market alone.

Survey finds in-app purchasing ousting app stores
A survey of 2,012 Appcelerator developers carried out in conjunction with IDC has come up with some gripping conclusions.
