Developing a good mobile app is like cooking a good meal. You snicker? Allow me to elaborate.
First you need to figure out what you want to build or cook. Let’s say a mobile service app and a short rib dish. Then you have to figure out what devices to build for–iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, etc. For the meal, you need to decide which cuisine you want to cook in–Asian, Italian, American, etc. The main ingredients may be similar, but it’s the little nuances (whether in code or seasoning) that will make the difference for the app and for the dish.
Now, what if you want to impress your dinner guests and want to make serveral short rib dishes in different cuisines? Or what if you want to build your service app for multiple devices? Well, you either have to have an army of sous chefs or code warriors–and you better get started right away.
But what if you had a magical cooking vessel that allows you to cook the short ribs multiple ways on one go? You just throw the short ribs in, set it and forget, and then add the various seasonings at the end–Asian, Italian, American–to make the distinctly different dishes. What a time saver–not to mention less of a mess in the kitchen!
A magical pot like this may only be fantasy for us gourmets, but fortunately for mobile app developers there is a tool that will let you build an app once and deploy to multiple devices. It’s called AMP Studio and it will let you easily model and build an app and then add your seasoning for each device to make truly delicious apps!
